Audience and Tools : The 'Garden Center: Basic Plant Care Level 1' is the essential training module for all employees at our retail establishment's Garden Center. This comprehensive module covers vital vocabulary and procedures, serving as the cornerstone of their learning journey. I meticulously developed this training using Articulate Storyline for course development, PowerPoint for 3D modeling, Camtasia for video editing, and Canva for creative elements.
Business Problem: Employees need to gain knowledge of basic plant care procedures, leading to product loss and difficulty in answering customer questions.
Process: Through collaboration with store management and employees, I confidently identified knowledge gaps and conducted thorough data analysis and observations. By leveraging the ADDIE and backward design models, I delivered precise, targeted training tailored to address the identified gaps. The observations highlighted errors in watering procedures and customer interactions, solidifying the necessity of this foundational module. The 'choose-your-adventure' design empowers learners to immerse themselves in real-life scenarios at their own pace.
Evaluation: Level 2: Knowledge checks and assessments within the module. Level 3: Management observes on-the-job performance and customer feedback pre- and post-training.
Solution: The client has implemented the module and is awaiting quantitative analysis to measure its impact.
